What is phishing?

Phishing is any attempt to steal sensitive information from you by someone pretending to be a lender. For example, an email asking for your account number or password pretending to be from a lender, sometimes using lender's brand logos.

Beware of scams, no lender will ever contact you with a pre-approved offer for a loan if you have never applied for it on lender's website or on 27 Cash Advance.

How to spot payday loan scams?

If you want to stay safe, remember the following signs of loan scams:

  • Prepayment via mail, credit card, personal check, or anything that isn't easily trackable.
  • Guarantees that you'll receive the loan even before or without a credit check.
  • Poor, spammy, or too good to be true promises.
  • They ask for sensitive data such as bank account or credit card details and social security number without proper loan terms and documentation.
  • The loan officer is suspiciously aggressive.
